A Season of Beads, Creativity & New Adventures

A Season of Beads, Creativity & New Adventures

Behind the scenes at Sun & Thread Sisters, and where you can find us this fall.

It’s been a little while since we last sat down to share something in our Journal, but that certainly doesn't mean things have been quiet around here!

In fact, quite the opposite.

Between designing new jewelry, experimenting with colors and textures, developing business strategies, working on our website, and learning the ever-changing world of social media, we've been keeping ourselves pretty busy.

And somewhere in between all of that, we've been getting ready for one of our favorite times of the year—fall and holiday craft show season!

A Little Look Behind the Scenes

One thing we're learning as we continue growing Sun & Thread Sisters is just how much happens behind the scenes of a small handmade business.

There are days filled with beads, needles, thread, and wonderful creative ideas. And then there are days filled with photographs, website updates, social media posts, pricing, packaging, and planning.

Sometimes we'd much rather be sitting at our bead tables creating something beautiful than figuring out what to post on Facebook!

But it's all part of the adventure.

We've been working on new pieces, putting finishing touches on our creations, and preparing displays that will hopefully make our little corner of the markets feel welcoming and full of handmade treasures.

And now, after weeks of preparation, it's almost time to pack everything up and take our creations out into the world!

Another Holiday Market Is Just Around the Corner!

Sons and Daughters of Italy — Holiday Craft Show

November 6 & 7, 2026

We're also looking forward to another wonderful opportunity to share our creations at the Sons and Daughters of Italy Holiday Craft Show, hosted by Denver Lodge 2075 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado!

This sounds like such a lovely way to welcome the holiday shopping season. You'll find a wonderful variety of vendors offering handmade jewelry, bath soaps and creams, Christmas decorations, unique gifts, and plenty of other treasures.

And don't forget the bake sale!

If you enjoy making a day of your holiday shopping, there will also be a café opening at 10:00 AM, serving soups, sandwiches, and other tasty goodies. There's even a holiday photo backdrop where families can stop and capture a little seasonal memory.

We're excited to bring our Sun & Thread Sisters handmade jewelry to this wonderful community event, and we hope you'll stop by and visit us!

There's something special about shopping at a craft fair during the holidays. Instead of choosing something mass-produced, you have the opportunity to meet the people who actually make the gifts you're giving.

And we think that's pretty wonderful.

More Than Just Jewelry

As we prepare for these upcoming shows, we've been thinking about how far this little adventure has already taken us.

Sun & Thread Sisters began with two sisters, a shared love of creating, and the hope of sharing our handmade pieces with others.

Along the way, we've discovered that building a small business involves a whole lot more than making jewelry!

We're learning as we go, trying new things, making adjustments, and occasionally wondering where all the hours in the day disappeared.

But through it all, one thing hasn't changed.

We still love what we do.

Every bead we choose, every piece we finish, and every person who takes a moment to appreciate our work reminds us why we started.

And having the opportunity to meet people face-to-face at these markets makes it even more meaningful.

We Hope Our Threads Cross Soon

If you're in the Colorado area, we hope you'll consider visiting one of these wonderful markets.

Come explore the work of local artisans, find a little inspiration, get a head start on holiday shopping, or simply stop by our table and introduce yourself.

We'd love to meet you!

And to everyone who has been following along, reading our Journal, visiting our website, or encouraging us along the way—thank you.

Your support means more than you know.

We're looking forward to sharing more of our creations, a few behind-the-scenes moments, and hopefully some wonderful stories from the markets in the weeks ahead.

Until our threads cross again...

May your thread stay untangled, your needle easy to find, and your curiosity always lead you somewhere unexpected.

With gratitude,

Kristina & Kimberly
