Beyond Gratitude: A Heartfelt Thank You from Sun & Thread Sisters
Our first Rocky Mountain Bead Society Bead & Artisan Market was more than a weekend of handmade jewelry. It was filled with new friendships, inspiration, and unforgettable moments. Join us as we share our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it special.
Sometimes the most beautiful things we take home from a market aren't the things we brought to sell.
This past weekend, October 16–17, we had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the 2026 Rocky Mountain Bead Society Bead & Artisan Market in Lakewood, Colorado. And now that the displays are packed away, the beads are finding their way back into the studio, and we've had a little time to reflect, there's one thing we want to say.
Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts.
More Than Just a Bead & Artisan Market
For Sun & Thread Sisters, this was our very first show together as a business. We spent weeks preparing, creating jewelry, arranging displays, and wondering how everything would come together.
There were long days, late nights, and more than a few moments of second-guessing ourselves. But standing behind our table, surrounded by our handmade creations, we realized just how far we've come.
What started as two sisters sharing a love of beads and creativity has grown into something we're incredibly proud of.
And this weekend, we got to share it with you.
The People Made It Special
To everyone who stopped by our booth, whether you purchased a piece of jewelry, asked about our beadwork, shared a story, or simply stopped to admire something we'd created, thank you for making us feel so welcome.
We met so many wonderful people, made new friends, enjoyed conversations with fellow artists, and learned a few things along the way.
There is something truly special about meeting the person who connects with a piece you've made by hand. Knowing that something we created will become part of someone else's story is a feeling that's difficult to put into words.
Those are the moments we'll remember long after the market.
The Little Moments That Meant So Much
One of the most exciting parts of the weekend was discovering which of our creations caught everyone's attention.
Our Christmas Spiders and The Christmas Spider story were among the favorites, bringing a little holiday magic and storytelling to our table. It was wonderful watching people discover the tradition behind these little beaded treasures.
Our Half-Tila Basketweave Bracelets also received plenty of attention, along with our Little Threads jewelry collection, which holds a special place in our hearts.
But some of our favorite moments went beyond the jewelry we had on display.
We received a special order for a pair of custom earrings and even booked a jewelry-making class! Knowing that someone wants us to create something especially for them, or spend time learning and creating with us, means more than we can say.
For a small business finding its footing, these are the moments that give us encouragement to keep going.
And while we're grateful for every purchase, we're equally grateful for the conversations, smiles, shared stories, and genuine interest in what we love to do.
Every purchase, every kind word, and every new connection helped make our first market one we'll never forget.
A Special Thank You to the Rocky Mountain Bead Society
We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Rocky Mountain Bead Society, the organizers, participating vendors, and the many volunteers who gave their time and energy to make this two-day event possible.
From setting up tables to welcoming visitors, answering questions, helping vendors, and keeping everything running, so much work happens behind the scenes.
Events like this don't happen without people who care deeply about their creative community.
We are grateful to be part of that community and to have shared the weekend with so many talented artists and wonderful people.
Taking a Little Piece of the Weekend Home
As we unpack and settle back into our creative routines, we're carrying home much more than our jewelry displays.
We're bringing back new friendships, inspiration, encouragement, ideas, and a renewed excitement for what lies ahead.
Our little business is still growing. We're learning as we go, making adjustments, trying new things, and discovering what works for us.
But this weekend reminded us why we started Sun & Thread Sisters in the first place.
We love creating. We love sharing what we make. And we love the connections that happen when creativity brings people together.
There is something truly rewarding about watching someone smile when they discover a piece of jewelry that speaks to them. Sometimes it's the colors, sometimes it's the story, and sometimes it's simply that little spark of connection.
That's what handmade art is all about.
Until We Meet Again
To our new friends, returning supporters, fellow artisans, and everyone who helped make our first market such a memorable experience, thank you for being part of our journey.
Whether you took home one of our creations, signed up to stay in touch, or simply stopped by to say hello, you helped make this weekend special.
We hope you'll continue following along as we create new jewelry, share our adventures in the studio, and prepare for our next event.
And if you visited our booth this weekend, we'd love to hear from you. What was your favorite discovery at the market?
We look forward to seeing familiar faces again and meeting new friends along the way.
Until our threads cross again...
May your thread stay untangled, your needle easy to find, and your curiosity always lead you somewhere unexpected.
With gratitude,
Kristina & Kim
