🌿 Behind the Beads: Lessons from Building Sun & Thread Sisters

When I first started building Sun & Thread Sisters, I thought the hardest part would be making the jewelry.
It turns out...making the jewelry is the easy part. 😄
The real challenge has been learning everything that happens behind the scenes.
Over the past few months, I've discovered that running a handmade business means wearing a lot of different hats. Some fit comfortably...and some have taken a little adjusting. 😊
I've accidentally posted the wrong wording on a Reel.
I've had to rebuild my Facebook page after setting it up incorrectly.
I've learned that a single sentence can unintentionally change how people understand the story behind a piece.
I've spent hours learning websites, Pinterest, Instagram, SEO, photography, taxes, shipping, and more.
And yes...I've had a few moments where I simply thought,
"Well...that wasn't exactly how I planned that to go." 😂
The wonderful thing is that every one of those little headaches taught me something valuable.
I've learned that words matter.
I've learned that giving proper credit to the artists who inspire us matters.
I've learned that asking questions is far better than assuming I know the answer.
And I've learned that mistakes aren't failures—they're simply part of learning something new.
Every correction has made Sun & Thread Sisters a little stronger.
Every lesson has helped me become a better artist, teacher, storyteller, and business owner.
I'm still learning every single day...and honestly, I hope I always will.
Because if we're learning, we're growing.
If you're building something of your own—whether it's a business, a creative hobby, or simply trying something you've never done before—don't be discouraged by the mistakes.
They're not signs that you're failing.
They're signs that you're brave enough to keep going. 🌱
Looking back now, I wouldn't erase those little missteps.
They've become part of the story.
And every lesson has helped shape the heart of Sun & Thread Sisters into exactly what I hope it will become: a place built on creativity, integrity, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning.
